Nitrogen generator

Introduce

Nitrogen generators can be divided into two categories based on their production principles: physical method and electrochemical separation method. In physical methods, there are hollow fiber membrane separation method and adsorption method. The electrochemical separation method is the absorption of oxygen in the water electrolysis separation tank.

PSA nitrogen generator principle

The diffusion rates of oxygen and nitrogen gas molecules on the surface of molecular sieves are different. Gas molecules with smaller diameters (O2) have a faster diffusion rate, and more enter the micropores of carbon molecular sieves. Gas molecules with larger diameters (N2) have a slower diffusion rate, and enter fewer micropores of carbon molecular sieves. The selective adsorption difference between nitrogen and oxygen using carbon molecular sieves leads to the enrichment of oxygen in the adsorption phase and nitrogen in the gas phase in a short period of time. In this way, oxygen and nitrogen are separated, and the gas phase enriched substance nitrogen is obtained under PSA conditions.

After a period of time, the adsorption of oxygen on the molecular sieve reaches equilibrium. Based on the different characteristics of carbon molecular sieve in adsorbing gas under different pressures, reducing the pressure causes the carbon molecular sieve to release the adsorption of oxygen, which is a process called regeneration. According to the different regeneration pressures, it can be divided into vacuum regeneration and atmospheric regeneration. Normal pressure regeneration is conducive to the complete regeneration of molecular sieves, making it easy to obtain high-purity gases.

Pressure swing adsorption nitrogen generator (PSA nitrogen generator) is a nitrogen generation equipment designed and manufactured based on pressure swing adsorption technology. Usually, two adsorption towers are used in parallel, and the timing is strictly controlled by a fully automatic control system according to a specific programmable sequence, alternating with pressurized adsorption and decompression regeneration to complete nitrogen oxygen separation and obtain the required high-purity nitrogen.
